Keychains
/Library/Keychains stores system-wide keychains and trust data used by macOS and apps for certificates, secure identities, and shared credentials.
What is Keychains?
Keychains are secure databases used by macOS to store certificates, trust settings, identities, and other security-related items. The /Library/Keychains folder is the system-wide location for shared keychain data that can be used by macOS services, administrators, and some apps, separate from a user's personal login keychain in their home folder.

Safety overview
Status: Use with caution
This is a sensitive system security folder. Removing or changing contents can break certificate trust, authentication, network access, signing, VPNs, and other security-dependent features. Some items here may be required by macOS or enterprise management tools.
Recommendation: Keep this folder. Do not manually delete items from /Library/Keychains unless you specifically know what a certificate or keychain entry is for and are following trusted instructions, such as replacing an expired certificate or removing an old managed certificate.
