Frameworks
Frameworks in /Library/Frameworks store shared code libraries that macOS and installed apps use to run features and avoid duplicating components.
What is Frameworks?
The /Library/Frameworks folder contains shared framework bundles used by macOS software installed for all users on a Mac. A framework is a packaged library of code, resources, and supporting files that apps can load to provide specific functions without shipping the same components inside every app. Developers, installers, creative tools, security software, and other desktop applications may place third-party frameworks here so multiple apps or helper tools can use them. Users usually encounter this folder when reviewing storage, uninstalling older software, or troubleshooting launch errors caused by missing shared components. Because these frameworks can be depended on by more than one app, the folder is part of the system-wide software environment rather than a simple cache or disposable data location.

Safety overview
Status: Use with caution
Items in /Library/Frameworks are shared components, not routine temporary files. Deleting a framework can stop an app from opening, break plug-ins, or cause update and licensing features to fail. This folder may contain both Apple-related and third-party components installed by software on your Mac, so the safe choice depends on which app installed each framework and whether anything still uses it.
Recommendation: Keep frameworks that belong to apps you still use. If you want to remove something here, first identify which application installed it and uninstall that application with its own uninstaller or by removing its remaining support files together. Only delete an individual framework after confirming no installed app depends on it, or you may create launch and update problems that are harder to trace.
