What is Xcode Junk iOS Device Support?
This folder contains iOS device support data used by Xcode when you connect physical iPhone or iPad hardware for development work on a Mac. Xcode copies or downloads support files for specific iOS versions and device architectures so it can install apps, prepare devices for debugging, and work with symbols and logs. The contents can grow large over time because separate versions are kept for different devices and iOS releases. Removing old contents is usually safe if you no longer need immediate debugging support for those iOS versions, but Xcode may need to download or recopy files again before device debugging, symbolication, or app deployment works normally. If you actively develop for physical iPhone or iPad devices, keep the versions you still use.
Recommendation: Keep this folder if you regularly run, debug, or inspect apps on physical iOS devices from Xcode. If you need to free space and do not currently use older device versions, you can remove outdated subfolders and let Xcode rebuild only the ones it needs later. Expect slower first-time reconnects for those devices after cleanup.
