A clear name makes a document easier to find in diScanner, Files, Mail, or another destination.
Steps
- Open Documents.
- Swipe left on the document and choose Rename. You can also open the PDF and tap its filename in the center of the top toolbar.
- Enter a name that describes the subject and, when useful, the date.
- Choose OK.
- Check that diScanner shows Rename Successful and that the new name appears in Documents.
Before you finish
- Avoid characters that may be interpreted differently by other file systems.
- Renaming changes the document label and exported filename; it does not change page contents.
- If diScanner shows Rename Failed, try a shorter unique name without path characters such as
/, then confirm that the document still opens.
Tips
- A pattern such as
Provider - Document - YYYY-MM-DDsorts predictably. - Do not place passwords or highly sensitive identifiers in filenames.
