A clear name makes a document easier to find in diScanner, Files, Mail, or another destination.

Steps

  1. Open Documents.
  2. Swipe left on the document and choose Rename. You can also open the PDF and tap its filename in the center of the top toolbar.
  3. Enter a name that describes the subject and, when useful, the date.
  4. Choose OK.
  5. Check that diScanner shows Rename Successful and that the new name appears in Documents.

Before you finish

  • Avoid characters that may be interpreted differently by other file systems.
  • Renaming changes the document label and exported filename; it does not change page contents.
  • If diScanner shows Rename Failed, try a shorter unique name without path characters such as /, then confirm that the document still opens.

Tips

  • A pattern such as Provider - Document - YYYY-MM-DD sorts predictably.
  • Do not place passwords or highly sensitive identifiers in filenames.
