Generated data often returns because macOS or an application still needs it. Cleanup removes the current files; it does not prevent normal future caching and logging.
Normal recreation
An application may rebuild thumbnails, indexes, web assets, update metadata, media caches, or logs on its next launch. This improves future performance.
Large downloads return
Offline mail, music, maps, cloud files, development dependencies, and language models can be downloaded again according to the owning app’s settings.
Adjust those settings if you do not want the data stored locally.
Repeated error data
Rapid log or temporary-file growth can indicate a crash loop, failed sync, incomplete update, or insufficient free space. Update the app and diagnose the underlying error.
Avoid unnecessary repeated cleaning
Do not clean the same active cache every time it reappears. Compare growth over a meaningful interval and focus on data that is no longer useful.
Exclude a trusted active path when repeated results add noise, but avoid broad exclusions that hide unrelated candidates.
