Junk Files searches supported cache, log, temporary, and related generated-data locations. Scanning does not remove anything.
Start the scan
- Finish active updates, exports, and installations.
- Quit applications whose generated data you intend to clean.
- Open Cleanup → Junk Files.
- Grant Home-folder or selected-folder access if requested.
- Start the scan and wait for completion.
Review the result
Open each category and inspect the owning application, path, date, and size. Deselect:
- Recent logs needed for troubleshooting.
- Offline data that would be expensive to download again.
- Recovery data for unsaved work.
- Files belonging to an active update or installation.
- Anything whose purpose is unclear.
Confirm a cleanup
Start with a small selection. Read the confirmation and do not close diCleaner or disconnect a scanned disk during removal.
The result can show successful, skipped, or failed items. Run a new scan afterward to measure the current state.
If the scan is incomplete
Check folder access, Full Disk Access, ignored paths, and whether the relevant disk is mounted. A partial result is not proof that the missing category contains no data.
