Missing items usually lack a usable source date or were not selected. Duplicates usually come from importing the same source more than once or combining manual and imported records.
Checks to make
- Confirm source access in iOS Settings.
- Open the source app and verify the birthday, event, or reminder has a valid date.
- Repeat the import and select only missing entries. Use Select All only when every visible result is wanted.
- Compare names and dates before saving.
- Delete a single duplicate with the normal list delete gesture, or touch and hold a row to select several duplicates.
- In selection mode, select the records to remove, optionally use Select All, then choose Delete and confirm.
What the result tells you
- Imports are copies, so there may be no permanent source identifier visible in the app.
- Changing a source after import does not necessarily update the copied record.
- Exact same-name and same-date records are skipped when possible, but variations in either field can still create separate records.
Before trying again
- Import in small batches.
- Standardize names to make duplicates easier to spot.
