Slack is legitimate collaboration software. On Mac, it may request permissions such as notifications, microphone, camera, screen recording, or accessibility-related access when you use calling, huddles, or sharing features; those requests are consistent with its communication purpose. Because it handles workplace messages and files, review your workspace sign-in, connected apps, and granted Mac privacy permissions if you use it for sensitive business communication.
Recommendation: Keep Slack if you use it for work, school, or team communication. If you no longer sign in to any Slack workspace, you can remove the app and its leftover data to recover space, but doing so will remove local settings and cached content until you install it again.
