OBS Studio is legitimate recording and streaming software. It commonly asks for Screen Recording, Microphone, and sometimes Camera permission on macOS, which is normal for capturing content you select. Because it can record what is on screen and what your microphone hears, be mindful of private windows, notifications, and sensitive audio before going live or starting a recording. If you no longer use it, removing the app will stop those workflows but does not create system risk by itself.
Recommendation: Keep OBS Studio if you use your Mac for streaming, recording, teaching, demos, or video production. If you installed it for a one-time task and no longer need those features, you can remove it and any leftover support files to free space.
