Select a page and tap Edit to open a larger editing view. Saving changes in this editor requires Pro.

Add an annotation

  1. Choose a tool in the first toolbar row. The second row shows its settings.
  2. For Text, tap the page to place a text box and type. Tap outside it to finish. The date button inserts a date.
  3. For drawing, shapes, arrows, or covers, choose the style and draw on the page. Use two fingers to move or zoom the page while a drawing tool is active.
  4. For a signature or stamp, use the library to select a saved item or create one.
  5. Tap Done to save your page edits.

Change an existing annotation

Tap the annotation to select it. Drag to move it and use the visible handles to resize or rotate it. Available handles depend on the annotation type. Double-tap a text annotation to edit its wording.

Use the second toolbar row to change supported colors, widths, or styles. Use Duplicate annotation, Delete annotation, Undo, or Redo as needed. The annotations list helps you find items that are small or overlap.

The pen’s eraser removes drawn strokes. To remove a signature, shape, or text box, select the item and use Delete annotation.

Use stamps

Open Stamp library from the signature and stamp tools. Choose a saved or common stamp, select Create stamp, or use Import stamp image to choose an image from Photo Library or Files. Review the imported image so background removal does not erase fine details.

Date-stamp templates use the current date when selected from the library. A stamp already placed on a page does not update its date automatically. Custom wording and text inside an imported image remain as you entered or imported them.

Text highlight, underline, and strikethrough

These tools require an existing selectable text layer in the PDF. Drag across the text to mark a range. They are unavailable on image-only pages; use freehand highlighting for those pages.

Adding a text annotation does not change the wording already printed in the underlying PDF. Copying or exporting recognized text also does not add a selectable text layer.
