The Sun section in a city’s Information sheet shows calculated sunrise, sunset, and day length for the current date. These values use the saved city’s coordinates and time zone.

Steps

  1. Open a saved city.
  2. Find the Sun section.
  3. Find the Sun section.
  4. Read sunrise and sunset as local times for that city.
  5. Read Day Length as the interval between the calculated sunrise and sunset.

Before you finish

  • Terrain, buildings, weather, and polar conditions can affect what you observe even when astronomical calculations are correct.
  • The Information sheet currently calculates Sun values for today. Moving the main World Clock time slider does not change this section.

Tips

  • Do not treat astronomical times as a weather forecast.
  • For safety-critical outdoor activity, combine this information with local official guidance.
