Online Information & Comments is not a separate module in the diCleaner sidebar. It appears as a small information button next to supported results inside several tools.

The button uses the ⓘ symbol. It normally appears when you move the pointer over a supported row, and its tooltip says View information and comments.

Open a lookup for an installed application

  1. Open Applications.
  2. Choose Uninstall Apps.
  3. Wait for the application list to load.
  4. Move the pointer over an application row.
  5. Click the ⓘ button beside the application name.

This lookup identifies the application using descriptive information such as its name, bundle identifier, and publisher when available.

Open a lookup for a leftover file

  1. Open Applications.
  2. Choose Leftovers.
  3. Run the leftovers scan.
  4. Expand or open the result containing the file you want to understand.
  5. Move the pointer over the file row.
  6. Click the ⓘ button.

This lookup is intended to help explain the item and whether it may be safe to delete. Always compare the returned information with the file path and the applications you still use.

Open a lookup for a startup item

  1. Open Optimize.
  2. Choose Startup Management.
  3. Find the startup item you want to identify.
  4. Move the pointer over its row.
  5. Click the ⓘ button beside the item name.

The request can include the startup item’s name, identifier, path, associated application, and publisher when those fields are available.

Online Information & Comments does not disable or remove the startup item. Return to Startup Management and review the item separately if you want to change it.

Open a lookup in Space Analyzer

  1. Open Files.
  2. Choose Space Analyzer.
  3. Select a location and complete the scan.
  4. Browse to the file or folder you want to understand.
  5. Move the pointer over a supported result row.
  6. Click the ⓘ button.

The information button is not shown for every row. It is also hidden throughout the app when Online Information & Comments is disabled in Privacy settings.

Open a lookup in Junk Files

  1. Open Cleanup.
  2. Choose Junk Files.
  3. Complete the scan.
  4. Move the pointer over a supported category row.
  5. Click the ⓘ button when it appears.

The button is available for selected categories rather than every cleanup result. These can include Xcode-generated data and, in supported Direct-edition results, certain system cache, system log, or iOS backup entries.

If no information button appears, the result may be unsupported or online access may be disabled.

Review the confirmation

When access is set to Ask Next Time, clicking the information button opens a confirmation before anything is sent.

The confirmation lists the descriptive fields that will be sent, such as the item name, path, identifier, or publisher.

Review the displayed values, then choose:

  • Continue to perform the lookup.
  • Cancel to close the confirmation without performing it.
  • Don’t show this again to set access to Enabled after continuing.

The selected file and its contents are not uploaded.

Change online access

  1. Open diCleaner Settings.
  2. Select Privacy.
  3. Find Online Services → Online Information & Comments.
  4. Choose Ask Next Time, Enabled, or Disabled.

Choose Ask Next Time to restore the confirmation. Choose Disabled to hide all related information buttons.

If the information button does not appear

Check the following:

  • Move the pointer directly over the result row; the button is hover-dependent in several lists.
  • Wait for the scan or application inventory to finish.
  • Confirm that you are using one of the supported tools listed above.
  • Confirm that Online Information & Comments is not set to Disabled.
  • Try another supported result. Not every row provides a lookup.
  • Make sure the window is wide enough to show the row controls.

If the button opens but the lookup fails, check the internet connection, VPN, proxy, and firewall rather than repeating the scan.
