diCleaner can remove an app together with related files, and can separately search for leftovers from apps that are no longer installed.
Uninstall an app
Before uninstalling, quit the app and its helpers, finish synchronization, save important documents, and deactivate its license when required.
- Open Applications and choose Uninstaller.
- Select an app.
- Review the related files found in Library folders and other locations.
- Deselect anything you want to preserve, such as shared data or a reusable project.
- Confirm the uninstall.
Some apps install privileged helpers, system extensions, or vendor-specific components. For those apps, the vendor’s official uninstaller may be the safest choice.
App Store applications
Removing an App Store app does not remove it from purchase history or cancel a subscription. Preserve documents, cloud data, and shared containers you still need, and manage subscriptions through Apple.
Direct-download applications
Use the vendor’s official uninstaller for VPNs, security tools, device software, virtualization tools, and other apps with a documented removal process. Deactivate licenses and export settings first when required.
Removing local files does not close the developer account or stop billing.
Find abandoned leftovers
The Leftovers tool looks for support files whose parent app is no longer present. Review matches carefully: similarly named files can sometimes belong to another app or a shared suite.
Other application tools
- Installers finds disk images and package installers that may no longer be needed.
- Updater compares installed apps with available versions, including App Store information where available.
Automatic uninstall monitoring
The optional menu-bar helper can notice when an app is moved to Trash and offer to review its remaining files. It does not silently delete those files.
