XnRetro
XnRetro is a desktop photo-editing app for macOS that applies vintage, instant-film, and retro-style effects to pictures.
What is XnRetro?
XnRetro is a photo and image editing app for macOS that helps users give pictures a vintage or instant-camera look. It is published by XnView and is designed for quick, style-focused editing rather than full professional retouching. Users can apply color presets, add light effects, choose frame borders, and fine-tune adjustments such as contrast, gamma, and saturation. The app also includes finishing effects like vignetting and noise to recreate older film-inspired styles. XnRetro fits simple workflows such as preparing social images, personal photo experiments, or giving snapshots a nostalgic look without using a larger editor. It is a native desktop app available from XnView for desktop platforms, including macOS.

Safety overview
Status: Safe
XnRetro is a legitimate photo-editing app whose file access is consistent with opening, editing, and saving images. It does not normally need unusual system-level permissions for its main purpose. As with most image editors, use files from trusted sources and save a copy before overwriting an original photo if you want to preserve the unedited version.
Recommendation: Keep XnRetro if you use it for retro photo effects or occasional image styling. If you no longer use it, removing the app is generally low risk and mainly means losing this editing tool and any app-specific settings.
