Web Wallpaper
Web Wallpaper is a macOS menu bar utility that turns websites into dynamic desktop wallpaper on one or more displays.
What is Web Wallpaper?
Web Wallpaper is a native macOS utility for using websites as live desktop wallpaper. It helps users keep web content visible on the desktop, such as news pages, weather maps, dashboards, photo sites, HTML5 demos, or other frequently viewed web pages. The app runs from the menu bar and lets you choose a URL to display behind your windows as a dynamic background. It also supports showing the wallpaper on attached displays, adjusting opacity, and reloading the page automatically at a chosen interval. An optional interaction mode allows you to work directly with the displayed website instead of using it only as a background. Web Wallpaper is published by Ari Feldman through WidgetWorx and is intended for Mac users who want a lightweight wallpaper tool without a full wallpaper engine workflow.

Safety overview
Status: Mostly safe
Web Wallpaper is a lightweight desktop customization app, and normal use involves loading the websites you choose as wallpaper. Its privacy and network behavior therefore depend in part on the sites you display, which may load media, cookies, or other web content just as they would in a browser. If you use interactive wallpaper mode, be mindful of what you click or type on the desktop background. Removing the app simply stops the live wallpaper behavior and returns you to standard desktop backgrounds.
Recommendation: Keep Web Wallpaper if you actively use live website backgrounds or desktop dashboards. If you no longer use that setup, removing it is usually straightforward and only affects this wallpaper feature.
