Uninstaller
Uninstaller is a Nikon macOS helper app used to remove Nikon desktop software components from your Mac.
What is Uninstaller?
Uninstaller is a macOS utility installed with certain Nikon desktop software packages to remove those Nikon applications from a Mac. Users typically encounter it inside a Nikon Software folder in Applications when they need to uninstall an older Nikon imaging tool or complete software cleanup after updates. Its job is focused and simple: launch the removal process, request administrator approval when needed, and guide the uninstall steps on screen. This kind of helper is most relevant for photographers and camera owners who use Nikon transfer, viewing, or companion software on macOS. It is a native support utility rather than a general-purpose app, so most users only open it when changing or removing Nikon software.
Key features
- Start the uninstall process for supported Nikon software on macOS
- Guide removal with on-screen prompts
- Request administrator authentication when required
- Help clean up installed Nikon application components

Inspect caches, support files, containers, and login items before cleaning.
Safety overview
Status: Mostly safe
This is a legitimate uninstall helper associated with Nikon software on macOS. It may ask for administrator credentials because removing installed apps and shared components can require elevated permission. Use it only when you intend to remove Nikon software, and close other Nikon apps first so the uninstall can complete cleanly.
Recommendation: Keep it if you still use the Nikon software package it belongs to or expect to uninstall that software later. If you no longer use the related Nikon app and have already removed it, this helper is usually not needed and can be removed with the rest of that software’s leftover files.
