It helps users remove the antivirus app from a Mac when they are reinstalling it, troubleshooting problems, or switching to a different security product. The uninstaller is launched from Spotlight or from Trend Micro’s removal tools and guides you through the removal process with administrator approval. Safety overview
Status: Mostly safe
This is a legitimate removal tool for Trend Micro Antivirus. It needs administrator permission because antivirus software installs protected components that cannot be removed like ordinary apps. Using it will remove Trend Micro protection from the Mac, so the device may be left without active antivirus until you reinstall it or switch to another security app.
Recommendation: Keep this only while you still use Trend Micro Antivirus or expect to reinstall or remove it soon. After the antivirus has been fully removed and you no longer need the uninstaller, you can delete it.
