Typeeto

What is Typeeto?

Typeeto is a Mac utility for turning your Mac keyboard into a Bluetooth keyboard for other nearby devices. It is designed for people who want to type on an iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, Android device, or another computer without switching to a separate physical keyboard. After pairing over Bluetooth, you can send text from your Mac to the connected device and switch between paired devices from the app. Common uses include entering text on Apple TV, replying to messages on a phone with a full keyboard, and typing into tablets or secondary computers from one workstation. Typeeto is published by Eltima and focuses on simple cross-device text input rather than file transfer or remote desktop control.

Key features

• Use your Mac keyboard to type on iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, Android devices, and other Bluetooth devices
• Switch quickly between multiple paired devices from the Mac
• Enter text on Apple TV and similar devices without using an on-screen keyboard
• Type messages, notes, and search queries on mobile devices with a full-size keyboard
• Pair directly over Bluetooth without installing a companion keyboard app on the target device

Safety overview

Status: Mostly safe

Typeeto is a legitimate keyboard utility whose Bluetooth access is normal for its purpose. Because it sends keystrokes to other devices, you should use it only with devices you trust and be mindful of where your typing is going before entering passwords or sensitive information. Removing the app simply stops this cross-device typing feature from working.

Recommendation: Keep Typeeto if you actively use your Mac as a Bluetooth keyboard for other devices. If you no longer use that workflow, you can remove it without affecting macOS beyond losing its device-typing convenience.
