On Mac, it also offers Quick Entry so you can add tasks without leaving the app you are using, plus an Autofill option that can attach links from apps like Safari, Mail, or Finder. Things includes Apple Shortcuts and AppleScript support for people who want automation, and it syncs across Apple devices through Things Cloud.

Safety overview

Status: Mostly safe

Things is legitimate productivity software. It stores task data and notes you create, and if you use sync, that information is sent through the developer’s cloud service so your devices stay up to date. On Mac, the optional Quick Entry with Autofill feature uses a helper app to pull links from supported apps such as Safari, Mail, or Finder, which is normal for that feature. Keep the app if you actively manage tasks in it, and be mindful that removing it can also remove local task data if you do not have sync or another backup.

Recommendation: Keep Things if you use it for task planning or project tracking. If you no longer use it, export or confirm your synced data first, then remove the app and its support files to free space without losing important to-dos.
