What is Textastic?
Textastic is a native macOS text and code editor designed for working with source code, markup, and plain text files. It helps developers, web designers, and technical users edit files quickly with syntax highlighting for many programming and markup languages. Common uses include editing HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Markdown, Python, shell scripts, and other project files without opening a larger IDE. The app supports tabbed documents, folder browsing in a sidebar, symbol navigation, and find-in-files to make moving around projects easier. It also includes code completion for selected languages, Emmet support, Auto Save, and macOS Versions. Textastic is published by Alexander Blach and is often used as a lightweight companion editor for fast code changes and general text editing on Mac.

Safety overview
Status: Safe
Textastic is a legitimate Mac code editor, and the file and folder access it uses is normal for an app that opens, edits, and syncs documents. If you store work in its iCloud or app container locations, removing the app can also remove custom settings, saved state, and locally stored editor data. As with any editor, take care when opening or changing important project files and keep backups of work you want to preserve.
Recommendation: Keep Textastic if you use it for coding, markup editing, or quick text changes on your Mac. Remove it only if you no longer need the editor, and export or back up any customizations or documents you want to keep first.
