Taphouse
Taphouse is a native macOS app for browsing, installing, updating, and managing Homebrew packages through a graphical interface.
What is Taphouse?
Taphouse is a Homebrew manager for macOS that gives users a graphical way to work with packages instead of relying only on Terminal commands. It helps Mac users browse formulae and casks, install and remove software, run updates, and manage common Homebrew maintenance tasks from one place. The app also includes tools for viewing package details, checking for security issues, handling services and taps, and importing or exporting Brewfiles for setup and migration workflows. Taphouse is useful for developers, power users, and anyone who wants the flexibility of Homebrew with a more approachable desktop interface. It is published by ATHANASIOS CHONIAS and is also available in a Setapp edition.

Safety overview
Status: Mostly safe
Taphouse is legitimate package-management software for macOS. Because it works with Homebrew, some actions can install, update, or remove software on your Mac, and certain maintenance tasks may ask for administrator access when macOS requires it. That level of access is normal for package management, but you should still review major changes before applying them, especially bulk updates or removals. Removing Taphouse does not remove Homebrew itself, but you may lose the convenience features it provides for managing packages.
Recommendation: Keep Taphouse if you use Homebrew and prefer a visual way to manage packages, updates, services, and cleanup tasks. If you no longer use Homebrew or prefer handling everything in Terminal, you can remove the app without affecting macOS itself.
