What is TabSwipe?

TabSwipe is a native Mac utility for people who spend a lot of time moving between tabs. It adds continuous three-finger trackpad tab switching to supported apps, helping users move across browser tabs and other tab-based interfaces more naturally than repeated keyboard shortcuts. The app supports browsers and several tab-heavy tools, including Safari, Chrome, editors, terminals, and Finder workflows. Users can adjust swipe direction, sensitivity, and whether tab navigation wraps continuously or stops at the ends. TabSwipe also provides haptic feedback on supported Mac trackpads and can run discreetly from the menu bar. Published by Marcus Coffey, it is designed for macOS users who want faster tab navigation with a lightweight native app.

Safety overview

Status: Mostly safe

TabSwipe is a legitimate native Mac utility for trackpad-based tab switching. To work across other apps, it may request Accessibility access, which is a normal macOS permission for software that listens for gestures and sends tab-switching commands. Grant that access only if you want the feature, and review the permission in System Settings if you stop using the app. Removing the app will stop its tab-switching gestures and any menu bar controls it provides.

Recommendation: Keep TabSwipe if you actively use trackpad gestures to move through tabs in browsers, editors, or Finder. If you do not use that workflow, you can remove it without affecting macOS beyond losing its custom tab-switching behavior.
