What is Sandy Beach 3D?
Sandy Beach 3D is a native Mac entertainment app that adds an animated beach scene to the desktop as a live wallpaper and screen saver. It is designed for users who want a more atmospheric desktop, whether for relaxation, ambient sound, or a decorative display on a home or office Mac. The app focuses on a seaside environment with moving waves, detailed water effects, and background audio to create a calm visual backdrop without replacing normal desktop use. It also supports multi-monitor setups and high-resolution Retina displays, which makes it suitable for larger desktop workspaces and external displays. On macOS, it can be used both as a visual wallpaper while you work and as a screen saver when the Mac is idle. Sandy Beach 3D is published by 3Planesoft.

Safety overview
Status: Mostly safe
This is a legitimate desktop wallpaper and screen saver app. Its normal behavior is visual rendering and audio playback, and users may notice higher battery use or system activity while the animated scene is running, especially on older Macs or multi-monitor setups. If you use it, keep macOS and the app updated and close it when you want to reduce resource use.
Recommendation: Keep Sandy Beach 3D if you use animated wallpapers or screen savers on your Mac. If you no longer use desktop scenes like this, you can remove it without affecting macOS beyond losing its wallpaper and screen saver options.
