What is RUMlogNG?

RUMlogNG is a native Mac app for amateur radio operators who want to log contacts, manage confirmations, and track operating progress across awards and bands. It is developed by Thomas Lindner, DL2RUM, and is designed for day-to-day station logging as well as contesting and DX-focused workflows. The app supports large logbooks, QSL label printing, paper QSL management, and integration with online services such as LoTW, eQSL, Club Log, QRZ, and HamQTH. It also includes award and country tracking, DX cluster access, log search and export tools, and support for importing and exporting ADIF data. For operators with compatible equipment, RUMlogNG can interface with transceivers and related radio hardware to streamline logging and station control on macOS.

Key features

  • Log amateur radio QSOs across HF, VHF, UHF, microwave, and satellite activity.
  • Manage paper QSLs and print QSL labels from your logbook.
  • Upload to and download from LoTW and eQSL services.
  • Track DXCC, IOTA, zones, grid squares, states, counties, and other award progress.

Safety overview

Status: Safe

RUMlogNG is legitimate amateur radio logging software for Mac. It may store your logbook, QSL information, station settings, and credentials or tokens for services such as LoTW, eQSL, Club Log, QRZ, or HamQTH if you choose to connect them. Radio control and network features are normal for this kind of app, but you should still keep your log backups current and review any connected account settings before sharing or syncing data.

Recommendation: Keep RUMlogNG if you use it for amateur radio logging, contesting, award tracking, or station control. Remove it if you no longer use the app and no longer need its saved logs or service connections, but export or back up your logbook first if you want to preserve your records.
