What is Radar HD?
Radar HD is a Mac weather app focused on radar viewing, storm tracking, and severe weather awareness. It is published by Elecont and offered on the Mac App Store as Radar HD Future Weather Radar. People typically use it to check approaching rain or snow, follow hurricanes and other storms, and monitor weather conditions visually on a map. The app is built for users who want a radar-first view rather than a general desktop utility, making it useful for travel planning, outdoor activities, and day-to-day weather checks. On macOS, it fits best for users who want quick access to animated radar imagery and related alert information without opening a browser.

Safety overview
Status: Safe
Radar HD is a legitimate weather app. Network access and location access are normal for a weather radar app because they are used to download map data and show local conditions more conveniently. If you do not want location-based results, you can use the app without granting location access and check weather for places manually. Removing the app only affects its own weather data, saved locations, and related settings.
Recommendation: Keep Radar HD if you use it to monitor radar, storms, or local weather on your Mac. If you no longer use it, you can remove it without affecting macOS beyond losing the app’s saved weather locations and preferences.
