Purge is a legitimate cleanup tool, but it asks for Full Disk Access so it can scan storage locations that normal apps cannot fully inspect. That permission is consistent with its purpose, yet it gives the app broad visibility into files on the Mac, so users should grant it only if they intend to use its scanning features. Cleanup actions can remove caches, developer artifacts, and other files that may be recreated later, but deleting the wrong items can still interrupt workflows or force apps and tools to rebuild data.
