Safety overview

Proton Pass is legitimate password-management software, but it handles highly sensitive information by design. It may request access you would expect for a password manager, such as biometric unlock, browser integration, or sign-in data needed to sync your vault. That is normal for its purpose, but you should still protect your account with a strong main password and multi-factor authentication, and only store credentials you intend to manage there. Removing the app can leave you without convenient access to saved passwords on that Mac unless your data is available through another Proton Pass app or the web.
Recommendation: Keep Proton Pass if you use it to manage passwords, passkeys, or aliases on your Mac. If you stopped using the service and have already moved or exported anything important, you can remove the app, but make sure you still have access to your saved accounts before uninstalling.
