If you installed a non-App-Store build, make sure it came directly from the official Picview site and that the app is signed as expected before giving it access to personal image folders.
Recommendation: Keep Picview if you use it to view photos, browse image folders, or pin reference images on your desktop. If you do not use these features, you can remove it like any other Mac app, though image files associated with Picview may open with another viewer afterward.
