Safety overview

Status: Mostly safe

Permute 3 is a legitimate media conversion app for macOS. Access to files you select is normal for its purpose because it needs to read source media and save converted copies. The main practical consideration is that converted exports can overwrite or duplicate files depending on where you save them, so keep originals until you confirm the result you want.

Recommendation: Keep Permute 3 if you use it for converting video, audio, or image files on your Mac. If you no longer use it, you can remove it like other apps, but keep any presets or converted media you still need before cleaning up related data.
