Permanent Eraser is legitimate file-wiping software, but its core function is intentionally destructive: once it finishes erasing data, recovery is much more difficult or not practical through normal methods. Access such as Full Disk Access may be requested to let the app erase files in protected locations, which is consistent with its purpose. Use it only when you are certain you no longer need the selected files, and double-check what you are erasing before you confirm.
