Safety overview

PeaZip is an open source archive utility, but the macOS build is distributed with instructions to remove the com.apple.quarantine attribute if Gatekeeper blocks it. That behavior is consistent with running a self-signed or non-notarized app, not with normal Mac App Store distribution. Only install it from the official PeaZip site, verify the downloaded package name and checksum when available, and avoid removing quarantine on any copy you did not download directly yourself.
Recommendation: Keep PeaZip if you use it to open, create, convert, or encrypt archives on your Mac. If you do not use third-party archive tools and only rely on built-in macOS extraction features, you can remove it without affecting the system.
