ON1 Effects 2023
ON1 Effects 2023 is a Mac photo editing app and plugin for adding creative presets, filters, masks, and stylized effects to images.
What is ON1 Effects 2023?
ON1 Effects 2023 is a photo editing application for Mac that helps photographers quickly stylize images with presets, filters, textures, borders, and selective adjustments. It can be used as a standalone desktop app or as a plugin in common photo workflows, which makes it useful for hobbyists, content creators, and working photographers who want faster creative editing. The app focuses on look development rather than full library management, letting users stack multiple effects, fine-tune them, and apply them only where needed. ON1 Effects 2023 also includes AI-assisted tools for masking and targeted adjustments, along with adaptive presets that react to subjects such as skies, buildings, and people. It fits especially well into editing workflows that already use host apps such as Adobe Lightroom Classic, Photoshop, Capture One, Affinity Photo, or Apple Photos.
Key features
- Apply one-click presets, filters, LUTs, textures, and borders to photos.

- Use AI-assisted selection tools to apply effects more quickly.

Safety overview
Status: Safe
This is legitimate photo editing software used to modify images and integrate with other photography apps. Access to your pictures and photo libraries is normal for its purpose, especially when you use it as a plugin or work with Apple Photos and other editors. Removing it will mainly affect your ability to open the app, use its presets, or launch its plugin features from compatible host applications. As with most creative tools, keep copies of important originals before doing major batch edits or overwriting exported files.
Recommendation: Keep ON1 Effects 2023 if you use its creative filters or rely on it in a photo editing workflow. If you no longer use it, you can remove it without affecting macOS, though any plugin-based editing features tied to this app will stop working in compatible host apps.
