Nik Collection Install

What is Nik Collection Install?

Nik Collection Install is the installer component for Nik Collection on macOS. It helps users set up the DxO photo editing suite, place the applications on the Mac, and install supported plug-ins for compatible host apps such as Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom Classic, Affinity Photo, and DxO PhotoLab. During setup, it can detect supported host applications and configure the collection for those workflows. Users typically encounter it when first installing Nik Collection, reinstalling after cleanup, or updating to a newer major version. This is an installation utility rather than one of the image-editing tools used for everyday photo work.

Key features

• Install the full Nik Collection suite on macOS
• Detect supported host applications during setup
• Add plug-ins for compatible photo editing apps
• Let you choose an installation location during setup
• Support reinstalling or updating major versions of the suite

Safety overview

Status: Safe

This installer is part of a legitimate photography software suite from DxO Labs. It may request administrator approval during installation so it can copy applications and plug-ins into standard locations, which is normal for this type of setup tool. Keep it if you are installing or repairing Nik Collection; otherwise it does not need to stay on your Mac after installation is finished.

Recommendation: Keep this installer while you are setting up, updating, or troubleshooting Nik Collection. If the suite is already installed and working, you can remove the installer to free space; deleting it will not remove the installed apps, but you would need to download it again for a future reinstall.
