Network Remote
Network Remote is a Mac utility that lets you control compatible TiVo DVRs over your local network with an on-screen remote.
What is Network Remote?
Network Remote is a Mac remote-control utility for compatible TiVo DVRs on the same local network. It gives users an on-screen virtual remote, keyboard shortcuts for common actions, and direct text entry where the TiVo interface supports it. For text fields that do not support direct entry, the app can navigate the TiVo on-screen character grid automatically to enter text for searches and setup tasks. It is useful for people who want faster typing and easier control from a Mac than a standard infrared remote provides. The app is published by Wmcbrine and is focused on TiVo remote functions rather than broader media management or streaming features.

Safety overview
Status: Mostly safe
This utility needs local network access to discover and control compatible TiVo devices, which is normal for its purpose. It is intended to send remote-control commands on your home network rather than manage files or system settings. If you no longer use TiVo with your Mac, removing the app should only affect your ability to control those devices from the computer.
Recommendation: Keep Network Remote if you use your Mac to control a TiVo on your local network. If you no longer use it, you can remove it to reduce clutter without affecting macOS beyond losing this remote-control function.
