Moho
Moho is a desktop 2D animation program for creating character rigs, cut-out animation, motion graphics, and finished animated scenes on Mac.
What is Moho?
Moho is a native desktop 2D animation app for artists, animators, and studios who want to design, rig, and animate characters and scenes on Mac. It combines drawing, bone rigging, keyframe animation, timeline editing, compositing, and export tools in one workspace, which makes it useful for shorts, web videos, explainers, educational content, and production pipelines. The app is known for vector-based character animation workflows, inverse kinematics controls, and tools for reusable rigs that can speed up repeated animation work. It also supports importing common layered artwork formats and exporting finished animations for delivery or use in other creative workflows. Moho is developed by Lost Marble and is available for macOS and Windows.
Key features
- Create 2D character rigs with bones and reusable controls
- Animate scenes with keyframes, timelines, and graph-based motion editing
- Draw and edit vector artwork directly inside the app
- Import layered artwork such as PSD and SVG files for animation
- Use inverse kinematics and mesh-style deformation tools for character movement
- Composite multiple layers and scenes into finished animated shots
- Export completed animations for video delivery and other creative workflows

Safety overview
Status: Safe
Moho is a legitimate animation tool. It normally needs access only to the files, fonts, images, audio, and project assets you choose to open or save for your animation work. Removing it will not harm macOS, but it can leave your projects, custom content, and preferences untouched unless you remove those separately. As with any creative app, keep backups of active projects and exported work before major updates or cleanup.
Recommendation: Keep Moho if you create or edit 2D animation projects, character rigs, or motion scenes. If you no longer use it, you can remove the app, but save any project files, custom scripts, brushes, or exported media you want to keep first.
