This is a legitimate optional component for iTerm2. It is meant to work with iTerm2's browser features and is not normally useful on its own. Because it can display web pages and interact with browser sessions inside iTerm2, the content you open there should be treated with the same care you would use in any browser. If you do not use iTerm2's web browser profiles, removing this component should mainly disable that feature rather than affect ordinary terminal use.
Recommendation: Keep iTermBrowserPlugin if you use iTerm2's built-in web browsing or browser profiles. If you only use iTerm2 as a terminal and do not want browser features inside it, you can remove this component and continue using the main app for terminal work.
