IHG
IHG is the hotel booking and loyalty app for browsing stays, managing reservations, and using IHG One Rewards while traveling.
What is IHG?
IHG is a travel app for searching hotels, booking stays, and managing reservations across IHG Hotels & Resorts brands. It is designed for travelers who want to handle trip planning and loyalty account tasks from one place on Apple devices. Common uses include checking rates, reserving rooms, viewing upcoming stays, and updating or canceling bookings while on the go. The app also supports IHG One Rewards features such as tracking points and accessing member benefits tied to your account. Travelers may use it to review stay details, receive trip-related information, and access mobile features offered at participating properties. On macOS, users may encounter it through an iPhone or iPad app running on Apple silicon Macs rather than a traditional Mac-first desktop program.

Safety overview
Status: Safe
This is a legitimate travel and hotel-account app. It may store reservation details, loyalty information, and payment-related booking data needed for travel management, which is normal for its purpose. If you share your Mac, sign out after use and review saved payment or account details in the app or your Apple account settings.
Recommendation: Keep IHG if you book or manage stays with IHG Hotels & Resorts or use IHG One Rewards. If you do not use it, you can remove it without affecting macOS, though you may lose locally stored sign-in and trip information until you sign in again.
