HyperCapslock
HyperCapslock is a macOS keyboard utility that turns Caps Lock into a customizable shortcut layer for navigation, editing, app launching, and commands.
What is HyperCapslock?
HyperCapslock is a native macOS utility for remapping Caps Lock into a powerful shortcut layer that works across apps. It helps users perform vim-style cursor movement, text editing, app switching, input-source switching, and custom shortcut actions without giving up the normal Caps Lock toggle. The app is aimed at Mac users who want faster keyboard-driven workflows, especially people who prefer home-row navigation and fewer reaches for arrow keys or function shortcuts. Its interface lets you configure mappings in a GUI, create reusable custom actions, and apply different behaviors in specific apps. HyperCapslock also includes a menu bar mode, an optional on-screen HUD, launch-at-login support, config import and export, and built-in update checking. It is published by xueshi qiao and is designed specifically for macOS.

Safety overview
Status: Mostly safe
HyperCapslock is a keyboard remapping utility, so requesting Accessibility access is normal for its purpose. With that permission, it can monitor and send keyboard events needed for its shortcuts, which means you should install it only if you intend to use those features. It can also start at login and check for updates in the background, both of which are ordinary for a menu bar utility. If you stop using it, removing the app will also stop its custom key behavior.
Recommendation: Keep HyperCapslock if you use Caps Lock remapping, keyboard navigation, or custom shortcut workflows on your Mac. If you installed it for testing or no longer rely on its key mappings, you can remove it without affecting macOS beyond losing its shortcuts and menu bar controls.
