Home Inventory
Home Inventory is a macOS app for cataloging household belongings, receipts, warranties, photos, and other records in one organized inventory.
What is Home Inventory?
Home Inventory is a native Mac app for creating a detailed record of the items you own. It helps homeowners, renters, collectors, and families keep track of belongings for insurance documentation, estate planning, household organization, and personal recordkeeping. Users can store item details such as make, model, serial numbers, purchase dates and prices, warranty information, receipts, and photos in a single inventory. The app also supports custom fields and flexible organization so different categories of belongings can be tracked in ways that fit the user’s needs. Companion mobile entry tools have also been offered to help add items from an iPhone or iPad, including barcode-based entry workflows. Home Inventory is published by Binary Formations, LLC, and the product has since been replaced by Under My Roof for new sales while support remains available for existing Home Inventory users.

Safety overview
Status: Safe
Home Inventory is legitimate household inventory software. It is designed to store sensitive personal records about your belongings, such as photos, receipts, serial numbers, warranty documents, and purchase details, so users should protect their Mac account and maintain backups of their inventory data. Access to files and photos is normal for the app’s purpose. Removing the app may leave your inventory data unavailable unless you export or back it up first.
Recommendation: Keep Home Inventory if you still use it to manage records for your belongings or need continued access to an existing inventory. If you no longer use it, make sure your inventory data, photos, and attached documents are backed up or exported before removing the app.
