Folder Album Artwork
Folder Album Artwork is a macOS utility that adds album cover images to Finder folders by using artwork already stored in audio files or supplied images.
What is Folder Album Artwork?
Folder Album Artwork is a native macOS utility for giving music folders and other Finder items custom icon artwork. It helps users organize album collections visually by extracting embedded cover art from supported audio files and applying that image to the folder icon. The app also supports batch work, so you can process many folders at once and populate subfolders automatically for larger libraries. In addition to extracting artwork from audio files, it can assign images you drag in from other sources and convert images for icon use. This makes it useful for collectors, DJs, and anyone who manages local music folders outside a streaming-only workflow. Folder Album Artwork is published by 2ManyRobots and is designed for Mac users who want faster, more consistent album-style folder presentation in Finder.

Safety overview
Status: Safe
This app performs normal file and folder icon changes for its purpose. It may need access to folders you choose so it can read embedded artwork and write custom icons, which is expected behavior for a Finder customization tool. Removing it does not harm macOS, but folder icons it already changed may remain until you reset or replace them.
Recommendation: Keep Folder Album Artwork if you organize local music folders and want album-style icons in Finder. If you no longer use it, you can remove the app; the main effect is that you will lose its batch artwork tools for future icon changes.
