Downloaded installers and IPSW files can be very large, and the app may keep temporary download data while transfers are in progress. Removing the app will not remove macOS itself, but it may leave previously downloaded files in your Downloads folder or other save location. Use it carefully when selecting installer versions so you keep only the files you actually need.
