What is Document Capture?

It helps users capture paper documents, preview and organize scanned pages, and save the results in practical digital formats for everyday office or home use. The app is also used to route scans into document management and cloud-storage workflows supported by Epson’s scanning environment. Safety overview
Status: Safe
Document Capture is legitimate scanner software used to control supported Epson scanning workflows on Mac. Access to scanned files and connected scanner hardware is normal for its purpose. If you no longer use an Epson scanner, removing the app generally only affects your ability to scan or send documents through Epson’s desktop workflow tools.
Recommendation: Keep Document Capture if you use an Epson scanner on this Mac or rely on Epson’s document scanning workflow. If you no longer scan with Epson hardware, you can remove it to free space and simplify your Applications folder.
