DevPod
DevPod is a desktop app for creating and managing reproducible development environments from local, remote, or cloud backends.
What is DevPod?
DevPod is a developer tool that helps you create consistent development environments from project configuration and connect them to your preferred local editor or terminal workflow. It supports devcontainer-based setups, so developers can open the same project environment across different machines and backends without rebuilding everything by hand. On Mac, the desktop app provides a graphical way to create workspaces, manage providers, and launch environments for local or remote development. DevPod is designed for software developers who work across repositories, teams, or cloud infrastructure and want a repeatable setup for coding, testing, and onboarding. It can work with public or private Git repositories and supports switching between local and cloud-powered workspaces when project needs change. DevPod is published by Loft Labs, Inc.

Safety overview
Status: Safe
DevPod is legitimate developer software used to create and connect to development environments. Network access, repository access, and connections to local or remote infrastructure are normal for its purpose. If you use shared or cloud-backed workspaces, review which repositories, credentials, and provider accounts you connect so your development data goes only where you expect.
Recommendation: Keep DevPod if you use it for software development, remote workspaces, or devcontainer-based projects. Remove it if you no longer use these workflows; doing so may also remove access to saved workspace and provider settings until you reinstall it.
