Colibri

What is Colibri?

Colibri is a native macOS music player designed for high-quality local audio playback. It helps Mac users listen to lossless and lossy music files with features aimed at accurate output, efficient performance, and a streamlined desktop listening experience. The app supports a wide range of formats, including FLAC, DSD, WavPack, MOD, MIDI, and more, making it useful for people with varied personal music libraries. It also includes AirPlay 2 multi-room streaming, so users can send audio to compatible speakers, TVs, and other Apple ecosystem devices. Colibri is especially relevant for listeners who want a dedicated Mac audio player rather than a general media app, with options focused on playback quality and library-based listening.

Key features

• Play lossless and lossy audio formats including FLAC, DSD, WavPack, MOD, and MIDI
• Stream music to compatible AirPlay 2 speakers and devices
• Use bit-perfect playback for high-quality listening workflows

Safety overview

Status: Safe

Colibri is a legitimate Mac audio player for local music playback. Access to your music files and audio output devices is normal for this kind of app, and its stated privacy profile is limited. If you use AirPlay or advanced playback features, review the app’s settings so it only accesses the devices and folders you expect.

Recommendation: Keep Colibri if you use it for local music playback or AirPlay listening on your Mac. If you no longer use it, you can remove the app and its related data without affecting macOS, though you may lose saved settings or app-specific library data.
