Civilization V: Campaign Edition is a Mac turn-based strategy game where you build a civilization, lead an empire, and pursue victory across world history.
What is Civilization V: Campaign Edition?
Civilization V: Campaign Edition is a native Mac strategy game focused on turn-based empire building across historical eras. Players found cities, research technologies, manage diplomacy, build armies, and guide a civilization from ancient times into the modern age. It is designed for players who enjoy long-form strategy sessions, multiple victory paths, and map-based planning rather than real-time action. Common uses include single-player campaigns, custom matches, and returning to saved games over many sessions. The game also supports downloadable content and saved-game management within its Mac App Store version, making it part of a broader Mac gaming workflow for users who keep strategy titles installed long term. Published for Mac by Aspyr, it fits best as a desktop game for players who want deep strategic decision-making and replayable campaigns.

Safety overview
Status: Safe
This is a legitimate commercial game for macOS. It stores saved games and related support files in your user library and may use network access for game services or multiplayer features where available. Removing the app will also remove access to its local game files unless you keep your saves separately. As with most games, install updates from trusted sources and keep any important saved campaigns backed up if you still play regularly.
Recommendation: Keep Civilization V: Campaign Edition if you still play it or want to preserve local saves and settings for future sessions. If you no longer use it, removing the app is usually fine and mainly affects the game itself and its local data on your Mac.
