Avid Uninstaller

What is Avid Uninstaller?

Avid Uninstaller is the macOS uninstaller for Avid Link, Avid’s desktop app for downloading, activating, and managing Avid software and related content. Mac users typically encounter it when removing Avid Link during troubleshooting, reinstalling the app, or cleaning up an Avid software setup. The uninstaller launches a guided removal process instead of requiring manual deletion of app files. It is relevant for workflows built around Avid products such as Pro Tools, Media Composer, and Sibelius, where Avid Link is commonly used to access installers and licensing-related tools. On Mac, it is normally provided as part of the Avid software environment rather than as a standalone consumer app.

Key features

• Uninstall Avid Link from a Mac through a guided removal process
• Help remove the Avid Link application during troubleshooting or reinstall steps
• Support cleanup before installing a newer copy of Avid Link
• Integrate with Avid product workflows that use Avid Link for downloads and activation

Safety overview

Status: Safe

This is a legitimate removal utility associated with Avid Link. Running it removes Avid Link from your Mac, which can affect app downloads, product management, and some Avid account or activation workflows until Avid Link is installed again. That behavior is normal for an uninstaller. Use it when you intentionally want to remove Avid Link or when Avid support steps call for a reinstall.

Recommendation: Keep it if you still use Avid Link or regularly manage Avid software on this Mac. If you no longer use Avid Link, you can remove the uninstaller along with the related Avid software components you no longer need.
