AutoTyper
AutoTyper is a macOS text expansion app that lets you trigger saved text snippets with keyboard shortcuts and optionally paste them into the active field.
What is AutoTyper?
AutoTyper is a native macOS productivity app for people who reuse the same text throughout the day. It helps you assign keyboard shortcuts to saved snippets so repeated replies, addresses, templates, and other boilerplate text are quicker to insert. By default, the app copies the selected text to the clipboard, and its optional AutoPaste feature can paste that text into the field you are currently editing. The app runs from the menu bar, where users can open its configuration window and manage their shortcuts. It is suited to everyday office work, customer support, form filling, and other repetitive typing tasks on Mac.

Safety overview
Status: Mostly safe
AutoTyper is legitimate shortcut and text-insertion software for macOS. To paste text into other apps, it may request Accessibility access and permission to use its application scripting folder, which is normal for its AutoPaste feature because the app needs macOS permission to control text entry outside its own window. If you only use it for clipboard copying, you may not need every optional permission. Keep it only if you use text shortcuts regularly, and review its permissions in System Settings if you no longer want it to automate typing.
Recommendation: Keep AutoTyper if you rely on shortcut-driven text snippets or menu bar access for repeated typing tasks. If you no longer use saved shortcuts, you can remove it without affecting macOS, though its custom snippets and related settings may no longer be available afterward.
