Artists
Artists is Bandcamp’s macOS app for musicians and labels to view activity, message fans, and manage audience engagement from a desktop-compatible app.
What is Artists?
Artists is the Bandcamp app for artists and labels. It helps musicians, bands, and label teams stay connected with their audience by providing access to fan messaging and performance information in a desktop-compatible app for Mac. Users can review activity around their music, communicate directly with supporters, and keep up with account information without relying only on the website. The app is geared toward promotion and audience management rather than full catalog editing, so it fits best as a companion to Bandcamp’s broader artist tools on the web. For creators who use Bandcamp as a storefront and community platform, Artists supports day-to-day fan outreach and quick status checks from macOS.

Safety overview
Status: Safe
This is a legitimate Bandcamp app for artists and labels. Network access and account sign-in are normal for its purpose, and any access to account data or fan communication tools is expected for managing a Bandcamp artist presence. Keep your Bandcamp login protected with a strong password, and sign out on shared Macs if you use the app for label or team accounts.
Recommendation: Keep Artists if you actively manage a Bandcamp artist or label account from your Mac. If you do not use Bandcamp’s creator tools, you can remove it without affecting macOS, though you would lose quick access to artist messaging and account activity from the app.
