Applite is a free, open-source macOS app that uses Homebrew to install and manage software. Its behavior is consistent with that purpose, including prompting for administrator access when some installs or removals need elevated privileges. The app is not sandboxed, and software installed through it may also be unsandboxed, so anything you install can have broader access to your Mac than App Store apps. Enter your admin password only when you intended to install or remove software, and review unfamiliar packages before installing them.
Recommendation: Keep Applite if you use it to manage Homebrew apps from a graphical interface. If you no longer rely on it, you can remove it, but any apps installed through Homebrew may remain on your Mac and may need separate management afterward.
