iOS schedules widget updates. A temporary delay does not always indicate an app failure, but a persistently blank widget needs configuration checks.

Checks to make

  1. Open diClock and confirm that Locations contains at least one city.
  2. For the small Select Location widget, edit the widget. Enable Show first city, or turn it off and choose a valid Select city value.
  3. For the medium or large Location List widget, reorder Locations so the intended cities are among the first two or first five.
  4. Return to the Home Screen and allow time for iOS to request a new widget timeline.
  5. Remove and add the widget again if it remains blank.
  6. Restart the device after an iOS update if several unrelated widgets are also affected.

What the result tells you

  • Low Power Mode and system resource management can reduce update frequency.
  • Force-quitting apps repeatedly does not force continuous widget refresh.
  • If the app shows correct clocks but one widget is blank, the saved widget configuration is the more likely cause.
  • If the app and every diClock widget show no locations, add a city in the app first.

Before trying again

  • Keep iOS and diClock current.
  • Use the open app when second-by-second precision is important.
